| Bluebeard: a Fairy Tale |
[Jan. 3rd, 2010|11:41 pm] |
This past Tuesday, my friend Roger (who plays Bluebeard) and photographer Frank Tuttle and I gathered at the Viking-themed carriage house of photographer Eddval. I thought it would be fun to do a few fairy tale - themed photo shoots, and when I dropped by Sur La Lune for inspiration, I thought of Roger as soon as I saw Bluebeard on the list. So we did these pictures.
Please click here for the entire shoot. :)

I've never been a big fan of the deus ex machina of her brothers swooping down and rescuing her, and honestly we didn't have two brothers in garb to photograph ;) So the resolution can be interpreted as either being taken care of by the brothers "off stage", or you can presume she instead saves herself. After all, earlier heroines like Lady Isabel did it, so why not Bluebeard's wife? :) But that's up to you. |

| Offering for a fruitful year |

Beannachd nan siubhal 's nan imeachd. 'S e an-diugh Dihaoine, cha chluinn iad sinne.
Today is the New Year. The Scots call it "Hogmanay" (and those of us who read Terry Pratchett will see in that the origin of the name of his book Hogfather). Among the Scots, this is a day of greater celebration than Christmas - sometimes lasting several days - a time of wild drunkeness and partying.
Happy New Year all, and may the coming year see many a tale told and shared amongst us.
( Sharing a cup... )
"A blessing on their travels and their departure. Today is Friday and they can't hear us." |
